Our Story

Stacie & Clay Galbreath the proprietors behind St Andrews Bodega, have always had a passion for culinary delights that go beyond the ordinary. With a deep appreciation for exquisite flavors and a knack for discovering hidden gems in the culinary world, Stacie wanted to create a space where every meal is an adventure, and every sip tells a story.

Living on the east side of the bridge, it became evident that there was a distinct lack of places to purchase boutique wines. Recognizing this gap, Stacie decided to combine a love for fine dining with a curated selection of boutique wines, offering a unique experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the area.

Introducing Chef Matt VanGennep, a culinary virtuoso with over a decade of diverse experience in the vibrant world of food service. After a remarkable journey spanning ten years across the globe, Chef Matt has returned home, eager to sow the seeds of his culinary expertise in Panama City.

Chef Matt’s culinary journey has taken him far and wide, with stops in Brazil, France, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, California, and Tampa. Along the way, he
has immersed himself in the rich tapestry of global cuisine, drawing inspiration
from the flavors, techniques, and cultures he encountered.
From the bustling streets of Brazil to the refined kitchens of France, Chef Matt has honed his craft in a multitude of culinary landscapes, each one adding depth and nuance to his repertoire. Now, Chef Matt is thrilled to bring his passion for food back to his roots in Panama

City, where he will serve as the executive chef at St Andrews Bodega. Here, he aims to delight and surprise local diners with his innovative approach to cooking, offering them a taste of the unfamiliar and inviting them to embark on a culinary journey unlike any other.
